Mickey Anderson was taking a big leap of faith when he left a stable career to join CVS Health in 2014. But he knew that he had made the right choice when his first task as a CVS Health Region Director in California was to help remove all tobacco from his stores’ shelves. "I will never forget that moment,” said Mickey. “I can still see all of those boxes of cigarettes being loaded into the truck and sending them back to the warehouse."

The meetings feature technical presentations about pulmonary rehab and oxygen therapy as well as more relaxed discussions around the best ways to live day-to-day with a chronic lung disease. "But mainly we just sit around and laugh. In fact, we come 30 minutes early just to gossip!" said Debbie.

Across the United States, we have seen towns, cities and states join the movement to increase the legal sales age for all tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, to 21 years old. Tobacco 21 laws are popular, with Americans recognizing that these laws will help prevent our kids from starting to use tobacco products and save hundreds of thousands of lives if implemented nationwide. We’re currently pushing for a federal Tobacco 21 law, but until that day comes the focus is on passing laws to increase the sales age to 21 in states.
