Why Support the American Lung Association?
Your donation to the American Lung Association goes toward research, advocacy, education, and patient support programs that help individuals prevent or manage lung disease and illness, quit smoking and heighten awareness.
Research
Funding research has been a cornerstone of the Lung Association's fight against lung disease for more than a century. Our donors make it possible to fund exceptional laboratory, patient-centered and social behavior research to prevent, treat and hopefully find a cure for all lung diseases, including asthma, COPD and lung cancer. Learn about the impact of research you help support.
Public Policy and Advocacy
Our nationwide lung health legislative network, along with state and local volunteers, fight to defend your right to breathe healthy air, free of air pollution or tobacco smoke, and work to support government programs that benefit lung health. Your contributions support this important work and enable us to release our signature policy reports, "State of Tobacco Control" and "State of the Air," and provide testimony to government about lung health issues. See how with your help we're fighting for lung health.
Support and Education Programs
Every year, the Lung Association helps people manage their lung disease, overcome their nicotine addiction and live healthier lives. Your contributions enable us to provide life-saving programs through multiple channels – in-person, via phone or chat with our Lung HelpLine, and virtually.
